August 2009 - new LW 8+ launched

With great pride Leonardo Salani has christened the newest hull in the élite rowing shell line-up, the lightweight eight - the boat he stroked to vistory in the 1982 World Rowing Championships.

Just recently finished, the hull has been redesigned to increase speed, rigidity and above all the stability compared to our older 8+ model. An increase in langitudinal stability in fact has reduced the hobby-horse effect at bow, increasing performance and decreasing the energy required by the crew to propel the boat.

Length is 16,85 m, width 56 cm. Perfect for athletes between 70 e 80 kg and available with all of our rigger configurations: traditional, alluminium wing, and carbon monotube. For more info and price quotes please contact our office.
May 2009 - SALANI wins the 100th LYSISTRATA CUP!

Naples, 9-10 May - On the waters of the Golf of Naples the magnificent Lysistrata Cup was raced over the weekend. This year's edition marks the 100th anniversary of the Cup, making it Italy's oldest regatta.
The cup this year went to the CRV Italia team, racing an elegant "8+ yole" Salani, with some of the rowing world's top names on board: Adrien Hardy: stroke of the olympic gold-medal French 2x at the Athens games, Iztok Cop: three-time olympic medallist, and local rowing stars Gennaro Gallo, Leopoldo Sansone, Loporchio, Bianco, Coeffic, Vicino e il timoniere Franco. The 8 Yole Salani used for this race was built by our boatyard and recently restored to its original top racing conditions, far lighter than its modern fiberglass counterparts. Many other Salanis were present at the race, in all sizes from the 1-person canoino, the 2x canoino, 4 yole and 8 yole.

But victory on the Golf of Naples wasn't reserved just for our boats! Elia Salani, son of current president Leonardo, also brought home gold in the 8+ University category!

April 2009 - VICTORY at the MEMORIAL D'ALOJA International Regatta!
The new series WING e CARBON brought home terrific results over this weekend of international rowing, on the waters of Lake Piediluco in Umbria. Gold-medallist Giada Colombo repeated her victory from last week's national regatta in the Junior Women's 1x, with her very noticeable pink Salani WING and Croker oars... leaving the competition behind by at least 100 meters! The Junion Men's single was also won aboard a Salani, this time of the CARBON series, by the tuscan athlete Margheri. And after a very tight race the Junior Men's 2x saw Xibilia Elio e Macrì Simone pull up to the medals dock in their Salani Wing to claim the silver medal.
A winning combination - Salani Boats and CROKER oars - with the latter accounting for at least half of all the oars used by both Italian and foreign crews!
April 2009 - NEW TO EUROPE - Ultrasleek Gig
Based on shells in use in North America for touring and open water racing, Salani has launched this month a new GIG. Useful for tourism, learn-to-row, or scholastic events and masters programs. April 2009 - Victory for Giada Colombo at the 1° Meeting!
A GOLD MEDAL for women's junior single sculler Giada COLOMBO of the Tritium Rowing Club. She flashed by the grandstands of Piediluco in her bright pink Salani, with at least 100 meters of lead on the second-place finisher. We'll be cheering for her on Saturday and Sunday at the Paolo D'Aloja Memorial Regatta this April 24-26, where she has been asked to row for Italy. Go Giada!

CARBON ELITE
Salani offering is our 100% carbon-fiber monotubular riggers, bow-facing and completely adjustable. Lighter and stiffer than any other rigger, these riggers are ideal for elite rowers who deserve the maximum amount of response from their boat. In addition these riggers retain less torsion memory over time and will guarantee optimal stiffness even after long use. The orientation towards bow has been shown to best translate the force of the athlete into the stroke, with less stress on the hull.

CROKER INTRODUCES "FULL CARBON" SHAFTS
The newest shafts from Croker - the S4 and M4 series "FULL CARBON". The lightest oars available and are designed for rowers at an elite level. They have the lowest rotational inertia of any Croker sculling shaft. The weight of the blade no longer is counterbalanced by a heavy shaft and in fact that carbon-alluminium swath near the handles allow for optimal weight distribution, alowing for a well-balanced feel for elite rowers.
FIAMME ORO
Con l'obiettivo di rinnovare i successi della precedente imbarcazione abbiamo fornito al Gruppo Sportivo Fiamme Oro un Doppio\Due Senza che andrà a sostituire il glorioso Due Senza che con Catello e Amarante ha vinto la medaglia di bronzo ai Campionati del Mondo di Gifu nel 2005.
Coerentemente con l'immagine del Gruppo l'imbarcazione si caratterizza per un vivo colore oro/arancione che ne consentirà l'immediata identificazione sui campi di gara.
Grazie a questa stretta collaborazione la nostra Società si affaccia ancora sul mondo dei grandi atleti del canottaggio innovandosi anche nello stile.
NOVITA' CENTINE
  Al fine di costantemente migliorare le prestazioni delle imbarcazioni serie Elite abbiamo introdotto una nuova tecnologia per la realizzazione delle centine mediante stampaggio. L'utilizzo di questo procedimento consente la realizzazione di centine monoblocco, completamente in carbonio e caratterizzate da:
+ maggiore rigidita'
+ estrema leggerezza
+ migliore finitura delle superfici
+ maggiore durata nel tempo
NUOVO STAMPO -1x PL 75 kg
Per completare la nostra offerta abbiamo realizzato un nuovo stampo per un'imbarcazione singolo PL destinato essenzialmente a vogatrici o a vogatori PL con peso compreso tra 60 e 75 kg. Con questa proposta anche le vogatrici potranno disporre di un'imbarcazioni più idonea alle loro caratteristiche e che offra le prestazioni di un'imbarcazione elite pur con un peso contenuto ed un prezzo competitivo.
ELITE WING - Aluminio estruso a sezione ellitica
Per le imbarcazioni da competizione abbiamo recentemente sviluppato una nuova gamma di scalmi di punta e di coppia con bracci in alluminio estruso anodizzato nero caratterizzato da un profilo alare in grado di:
+ garantire un prezzo competitivo ed un elevato rapporto qualità-prezzo
+ assicurare un ridotto tempo di montaggio/smontaggio e impostazione della barca
+ offrire la massima rigidità per resistere alle notevoli sollecitazioni meccaniche ed assicurare un completo trasferimento della forza applicata dal vogatore all'imbarcazione, riducendo le dispersioni d'energia
+ ridurre sensibilmente il peso complessivo dello scalmo
aumentare la stabilità dell'imbarcazione, grazie al flusso omogeneo dell'aria sul profilo dell'ala
SALANI SUL PODIO - CAMPIONATI DEL MONDO GIFU
Tra le imbarcazioni che hanno consentito agli equipaggi italiani di ottimamente figurare ai recenti Campionati Mondiali di Gifu (Giappone) e di conquistare la Coppa FISA quale miglior squadra, figura anche l'equipaggio del 2 senza pesi leggeri di Catello Amarante e Salvatore Amitrano. I due atleti hanno infatti conquistato il terzo posto nella finale, subito dietro a Danimarca e Cile.
L'imbarcazione su cui hanno partecipato ai campionati era un 2- serie Elite messo a disposizione dai Cantieri Salani, caratterizzato dallo scafo in fibra di carbonio e kevlar ed equipaggiato dai nuovi scalmi ad ala in alluminio. Anche i remi erano stati forniti da Salani, distributore per l'Italia dei prodotti Croker, il produttore australiano i cui prodotti hanno equipaggiato le migliori imbarcazioni a Gifu.
